tacoria - Mexican Street Kitchen: Reviews & Ratings
We discovered it while taking a walk with my wife last night. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Highly recommended.
4.75/5 The quesadilla was very tasty, good crunch, but I wish there was a bit more spice/more spices offered to get on the side. The place itself is great to sit down with a small group of people. Given how quickly the food came out, I was surprised by the quality of the food.
Tacoria 67 E. Ridgewood Ave. Ridgewood, NJ 07450 Limonada Guava Basil Horchata Al Pastor Burrito Box Mexican Street Corn Located in downtown Ridgewood is a Mexican restaurant chain with a limited, but tasty menu. As a bonus, unlimited refills are included with any drink purchase (this does not include any cans or bottles). For this reason, I decided to explore three Agua Frescas. I also took them up on their suggestion by adding ice to all drinks. Limonada: This drink was quite refreshing. It wasn’t overly sweet. Guava Basil: This was definitely my personal favorite of the three agua frescas. To start, the color was the most appealing and the taste was sweeter. Horchata: Although Ienjoyed this cinnamon flavored drink, I would have preferred to have this as a dessert drink instead of the main course. It goes best with a pastry or cake, not a main entrée Al Pastor Burrito Box: The pork burrito box was marinated in secret spices and pineapple. The box is always one of my favorite plates because you actually get more for your money; they are able to pack more protein and sides into a bowl than a burrito. Mexican Street Corn: While I enjoyed the chipotle aioli and cotija cheese, I was not pleased with this side. The appearance wasn’t too appealing and the corn was rather bland; While I wasn’t thrilled with the corn, everything else was a home run and I’ll definitely return for a future visit! #tacoria #tacorianj #ridgewoodnj #burritobox #alpastor #aguafrescas #limonada #horchata #guavabasil #mexicanstreetcorn #mexicanfastfoodchain
I like this chain and couldn't wait to try this location! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and it was busy. I ordered: Tinga Chicken Tacos Pollo Asado Tacos Steak Tacos Mexican Street Corn Limonada The food was really good! I enjoyedit all especially the tacos! I had a good experience!
Tacoria's newest location in Ridgewood and what a gorgeous one it is. So beautiful, artistic and colorful inside, it is just stunning. We went around noon time on Sunday. I ordered my favorite chicken and streak tacos with side of chips and guacamole. Also ordered couple of kid's taco. It took them about 7-8 minutes to prepare the order. The tacos looked fantastic. Tacoria does an incredible job of decorating the tacos with toppings. Loved the taste of the tortillas, the chicken, guacamole and all the toppings. I felt the steak could have been cooked little bit more, it seemed undercooked. The sprite from the fountain was watery, wish it had more fizz. Overall I was very impressed with the appearance, service and food of this store. I am so glad Tacoria joined the superior downtown area of Ridgewood that already has so many other excellent restaurants. Now we have one more option to dine-in when are in Ridgewood.
Absolutely loved it! This place is busy and few indoor sittings, but the service is very good and food comes out fast and everything was very delicious!
Against all odds, I decided to try something I don't generally like - a burrito. My main gripe with burritos is that they're often just bricks of carbs, with rice making up most of the bulk. But something told me I'd like them here, and I absolutely did. There's a better proportions of rice, beans, cheese, and protein, and it's full of meat. I went with the tinga chicken, which is shredded without being dry and flavored with just the right amount of heat. My husband went with the tacos but couldn't decide between steak or chicken. The guy behind the counter was gracious enough to let him mix and match. The chicken tacos were great, but I found some of the steak pieces to be dry and tough. A quick trip to the salsa bar rescued those bites. I love a good salsa bar. If you're into Cholula's, Tacoria has all the usual varieties, but I ignored those in favor of the three that were made in house. The habañero sauce is easily my favorite of the bunch, with salsa verde being a close second. They both added such nice acidity and flavor without much heat. The Mexican street corn is an absolute hit. Covered with cojita cheese, chipotle aioli, and bright green flecks of cilantro, my mouth was watering before I even dug in. These are served on the cob, but a quick run down the sides with a butter knife allowed me to make a decently sized pile of these delicious kernels that also became a friendly accoutrement to every other bite of food we had. At the end of our meal, the fountain drinks started calling my name. I generally avoid drinking my calories, but I couldn't resist the Horchata beverage. Part beverage and part dessert, this milky and cinnamony drink is like the milk left after you finish the cereal. The cocktail lover in me immediately wondered what this would be like with a shot of Kahlua, but I chugged that deliciousness so quickly that none of it made it home, and now we'll never know.

Located in the heart of downtown Ridgewood, tacoria - Mexican Street Kitchen offers a vibrant and authentic taste of Mexican street fare that’s both inviting and satisfying. This colorful and artistic space complements its menu, which, while concise, delivers bold and well-crafted flavors that make each bite memorable.
The standout here is their Al Pastor Burrito Box, a generous and flavorful dish where tender pork marinated in secret spices and pineapple shines beautifully, offering a perfect balance of sweet and savory. Unlike a typical burrito, the box presentation allows for more protein and sides, making it a great value. Their tacos, especially the Tinga Chicken and Pollo Asado, receive high praise for fresh toppings, soft homemade tortillas, and authentic seasoning—though a slight note on the steak, which some found a tad undercooked.
Complementing their savory menu is a selection of refreshing Agua Frescas, including the zesty Limonada, the sweet yet herbal Guava Basil, and the creamy Horchata. Each drink is thoughtfully prepared with unlimited refills, encouraging slow sipping and extended enjoyment—though suggestions note Horchata pairs better as a dessert accompaniment.
The Mexican street corn, topped with chipotle aioli and cotija cheese, offers a classic side, though it may miss some punch in flavor and visual appeal compared to the other dishes. Yet, this minor shortcoming doesn’t overshadow tacoria’s overall strengths—fresh ingredients, speedy service, and a warm atmosphere that’s perfect for casual dining with friends or family.
On my visit, the impeccable presentation and quality of food stood out, especially the careful layering of toppings and balanced spices. Tacoria embraces the essence of Mexican street cuisine with a modern touch, making it a must-try for anyone seeking vibrant flavors in a relaxed urban setting. Whether you're craving tacos, a hearty burrito box, or a refreshing agua fresca, tacoria delivers with flair and authenticity right in the heart of Ridgewood.
